Stephen Borthwick Resident Manager Well first off call me Steve; I'm the Resident Manager here at the Village. I have lived and worked here for the past five years so am somewhat familiar with daily life at the Village, Sydney University and Newtown. I am somewhat of a permanent Arts student and love my study. I have a B.A. Political Science (Hons), B.A. Adv. Philosophy & Sociology and am currently reading for my PhD in the Sociology of Education. I'm always happy to help and there's never any trouble finding me - most often with a latte in hand at Hoochies. If you need any advice about Uni, the Village or anything else, feel free to approach me and I'll do whatever I can to help. Any comments or queries, issues or ideas, drop me a line at stephen.borthwick@clv.com.au |

Libby Rugg Senior RA Hi everyone, I'm Libby. I'm in my second year at Uni studying Primary Education, which I absolutely love. I’m Sydney born but grew up in New Jersey, so I’ve got a confusing hybrid accent. I enjoy painting, studying art history, listening to music and I'm obsessed with Hoochies coffees. You can find me most likely at Hoochie's for breakfast (yum!) or playing Wii Tennis in the Well! If you see me around come over for a chat, I look forward to meeting everyone! |

I absolutely love the fun of travelling to different places since I have lived in an International community. Do not hesitate to come up to me for a chat :)

Resident Assistant Ebony From: Tasmania Degree: Combined Law/Commerce About me: I love travelling and spent all of last year backpacking around Europe and South-East Asia. I grew up in Hobart, Tasmania but much prefer the fast pace of life in Sydney. I am a huge fan of gymnastics and really miss coaching. I also love a big night out, running outdoors and foreign movies.

Resident Assistant Ryan From: New Jersey Degree: Masters of Economics About me: Hey everyone. I grew up in South Plainfield, NJ about 45 minutes outside of New York City. I came to Australia in February of 2009 to study at the University of Sydney. I’m pretty much studying all the time, but when I can manage to pull myself away from the books I’m either exercising or raiding my friends’ kitchens. Typically you can find me in four places, my room, Fischer Library, Arena Sports Gym, or the Village green. Feel free to come talk to me at any time and if you’re looking to throw the Frisbee around I’m your man.

Resident Assistant Dominic From: Canberra Studying: International Studies About me: I'm a friendly guy who loves jazz, basketball and the occasional surf (when possible). I'm always up for a chat so if you ever need to talk about anything or need help with something just get in touch. For instance, if you want the best places to eat in Newtown then I'll definitely be able to help! |

Resident Assistant Yi-Fen From Malaysia Studying: Science-Nutrition About me: I'm Fen. I am Malaysian by blood, and Dutch by birth. I grew up in different parts of the world and yes, I love travelling. I also enjoy running and trying new food. Chances are you'll either bump into me at the gym or one of the cafés in Newtown. |
|
Resident Assistant Kim From: Central Coast Studying: International Liberal Studies (Psych) About me: I'm born and bred on the sunny Central Coast with the exception of stints in Rome and Wollongong. I love food, especially Thai, so Newtown is treating me well! My loves are traveling, board games and a good night out. If you're looking for a chat or someone to drag to the gym, you'll most likely find me lurking around Hoochies or one of the 25 Thai restaurants on King St!

Resident Assistant Matt From: Sydney Studying: Arts/Science About me: I’m a local Sydney boy so if you ever need some ideas on where to go or what to do, give me a shout. Also love to get out and about canoeing, bodyboarding even skydiving last year. If you ever want to pass/kick a ball around, have any questions or need a hand, I'm always wandering around the Village just say hello!

Resident Assistant Natasha From: South Africa/ Netherlands Studying: Combined Law with International Studies II About Me: After having lived in six countries, four continents and two hemispheres, I think I have perfected the pace, rhythms, and art of the student life. I am an absolute history junkie and I devour historical biographies. My favorite food is a tie between Italian and Thai food; if these two cuisines joined forces, they would rule the world. I’m extremely approachable and always up for a chat, so just feel free to say ‘Hi’ when you see me around!
